Former Courtaulds Factory, Carrickfergus
MCE Contract Services were employed to safely remove all the asbestos removal products that remained in the Former Courtaulds Factory Carrickergus.
The work at the former Courtaulds Factory in Carrickfergus included the removal of asbestos insulation from the partly deconstructed Boilers on site that where left in a heavily contaminated condition after a previous demolition contractor on site.
A phased approach was taken to safely remove all the asbestos from the boilers involving over 20 asbestos removal operatives on site at one time. Large quantities of Asbestos insulation board were also removed from the Factory which lined the internal ceiling of the warehouse.
Once safely removed under fully controlled conditions the asbestos cement roof to the warehouse could also be removed. The project was completed ahead of schedule to the great satisfaction of HSENI who have been involved within the site for over ten years.
